Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 (December 28): Arrival in Marrakech -
We will meet you at the airport to start the trip. Depending on the time of arrival there is the possibility to take a first contact with the charm of the JAMAA LAFNA square and surroundings. HOTEL ACCOMMODATION WITH BREAKFAST
Day 2 (December 29): Marrakech - Draa Valley - Zagora (360km)
Departure from Marrakech heading south. We cross the village of Ait Ourir, where the road narrows to cross the neck of Tiz-in-Tichka of 2260 meters of altitude. On the way to Zagora we pass through the beautiful Draa Valley with its 3 million palm trees, in which we plunge to discover villages and ancient Kasbahs. At the end of the day we arrive at the heart of a beautiful oasis in Zagora. Overnight in hotel with BREAKFAST and DINNER.
Day 3 (December 30): Zagora - Tafraout - Ramlia - Ouzina "Berber village in the middle of the desert" (280km track)- Breakfast.
Breakfast. We travel on unfrequented tracks and enjoy landscapes very different from those we are familiar with. In the village of Ramlia, we share a tea and visit its garden. Then, we continue the adventure to the village of Ouzina where the Saharan dunes, the highest in Morocco, begin. In the afternoon we arrive at the lodge. Free time to enjoy the calm and the wonderful scenery that the desert offers. DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN A KASBAH AT THE FOOT OF THE DUNES OF OUZINA.
Day 4 (December 31): Ouzina - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi (70km track) - Merzouga
After breakfast, heading to Merzouga, we continue along a dry river and at one point we stop to take a panoramic photo. We visit the desert nomads to share a chat and tea with them. Driving along a track of dunes and black desert, we arrive at the Oasis of Tissardmin to see a fossil quarry.
In the afternoon, already in Merzouga, and after lunch the camels will take you at a slow pace, crossing the wide expanse of golden sand, to a high dune to watch the magical sunset. We continue to the tents camp where we will spend an unforgettable night in the middle of the dunes, a bonfire and Berber musicians that will allow you to feel the true spirit of the desert and experience an indescribable starry sky.
We celebrate the New Year’s Eve party. SPECIAL dinner with delicacies of Moroccan cuisine. SPECIAL NEW YEAR’S EVE – – INCLUDES DINNER AND ACCOMMODATION IN THE DESERT.
Day 5 (January 1st): Merzouga - Erfoud - Todra Gorges - Dades - The Valley of the Roses - Skoura - Kasbah Ait ben Haddou - Kasbah Taourirt -Ouarzazate-.
After breakfast we head towards the Todra Gorges, passing through Erfoud to see how the factories work the huge blocks of stone with fossils brought from the quarries, to turn them into beautiful pieces of countertops, ornaments, tables, sinks, etc.. that are sent all over the world.
We continue our journey passing through several Berber villages such as Tinjdad, until we reach the famous Todra Gorges, a favorite place for climbers and trekking enthusiasts. By the “Route of the thousand Kasbahs, we pass through the Dades Valley and the Valley of the Roses where its inhabitants make creams, soaps and rose water. and then we plunge into the valley of the palm grove of Skoura.
At 30 kms from Ouarzazate we know the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO). In this spectacular setting have been filmed several famous movies like Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz. In the center of the city we visit the kasbah Taouirirt: once the residence of the pacha of Marrakech, built in adobe with towers almendas.
We visit the old rooms of the Glaoui, the dining room and the rooms that retain their painted stucco decoration, ceilings in wood and cedar.we arrive in Ouarzazate. ACCOMMODATION WITH DINNER AND BREAKFAST
Day 6 (January 2): Ouarzazate - Kasbah Telouat - Marrakech
After breakfast, we travel to Marrakech and at one point we turn off on a mini-road with a beautiful landscape with adobe buildings on the mountains. We visit the Kasbah of Telouat and continue to Marrakech. Overnight with breakfast.
DAY 7 - 03 JANUARY - Marrakech - Airport *
Breakfast at the Hotel At the agreed time, we will transfer to the airport and end of the trip.
