Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Riad/hotel in Marrakech at 07:30 AM. We will drive through the fertile plain with olives and plantations before getting into the Middle-Atlas Mountains. Stretch your legs in the beautiful town of Ifrane, then have another short break in the UNESCO-listed cedar forest that hosts a colony of the endangered Barbary Macaques.

After lunch either in Zaida or Midelt, we will cross the High-Atlas Mountains with their snow-capped peaks. Enjoy the geological formations of the Ziz Gorge, then take memorable pictures by the palm valley of Ziz before arriving in the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi through Erfoud.

A warm welcome by the Riad/hotel staff members with tea and pastries as a traditional Moroccan ritual. Have a nice dinner under the stars or in the restaurant before spending the night in your en-suite room.

Day 2: Explore the Desert Area & Camel Trek

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, we will spend the day exploring the desert area starting with the sophisticated system of irrigation called “Khettaras”. This traditional system is based upon conveying water from afar to the oasis of Merzouga by digging wells and connecting them together with an underground channel.

We will then cross the Village of Merzouga to the Khamlia, which is inhabited predominantly by “Black Africans” brought as slaves and they are known for their hospitality, and for the spiritual Gnawa Music, they perform to guest-visitors. Later, we will have a complete tour around the majestic sand dune field of Erg Chebbi with its miraculous views and absolute tranquility.

We will visit a local nomad family to learn about their unique style of life before returning back to the Riad/Hotel by the feet of the sand dunes. Go on a camel trek while enjoying the magnificent views of the sunset before arriving in our luxury desert camp. Enjoy your dinner under the stars or inside our tented restaurant before culminating the day with a nice sleep in your en-suite tent.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

Wake up in the early morning, then climb the sand dune to enjoy the miraculous view of the sunrise. After having a refreshing breakfast, we will resume our journey west crossing the city of Erfoud, which is famous for fossils and dates. Have a gentle walk in the impressive Todra Gorge (Canyon) that has been an attraction to mountain climbers and nature seekers.

After lunch, we will drive to the lush valley of Dades where we will spend our third night.

We will have a guided walking tour of the dramatic Ksar Ait Benhaddou, which is a UNESCO-listed site since 1987.
