Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Tangier - Asilah - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

Pick up from your Riad/hotel in Tangier or cross the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain to Tangier and we will meet you at the port of Tangier. We will head south to the charming and tranquil town of Asilah, which was founded by the Portuguese by the Atlantic Ocean. You will notice how the ramparts and gateworks remain fully intact.

Asilah holds an annual Festival of Music & Arts, including a mural-paintaing festival when artists and painters from all over the world leave their artistic stamps in the walls of the Medina. The Medina of Asilah is known for its tranquility and the beautifully painted streets.

We will continue on the track to the cultural city of Fes passing by the Roman Ruins of Volubilis where you will have a guided walking tour to learn about the Roman Civilisation that settled in the north of Africa. 

Later, you will make a visit to the former imperial city of Meknes starting from the impressive Bab Mansour, stretch your legs by the vibrant el-Hedim Square, then visit the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum (the founder of Meknes). Drive to Fes through the highway and get to your destination in the evening.

Day 2: Explore Fes - Chefchaouen

After breakfast, you will spend the first half-day exploring the best of Fes with a local tour guide enjoying a panoramic view of the Fes el-Bali (Oldest Fes), which is the largest car-fee district in the world. Take pictures by the golden gates of the Royal Palace, then stretch your legs in the Mellah (former Jewish Quarter) before getting into the heart of the Medina with its countless alleyways, bustling cafes, museums, souks, tannaries, and much more.

After lunch, we will head to the blue city of Chefchaouen across the spectacular Rif Mountains where we will spend our second night in a comfortable hotel/Riad.

Day 3: Explore Chefchaouen - Tetouan - Tangier

After breakfast, you will spend the first-half day exploring what Chefchauen has to offer. The blue city lies by the edge of two mountains that have the shape of “goats’ horns” from which the name “Chaouen” is derived. We will start our tour from the vibrant Utta el-Hammam Square, which is located in the heart of the Medina.

We will explore the Kasbah, which dates back to the 15th century by the Moulay Ali Ibn Rashid to fight against the Spanish and Portuguese invaders. Enjoy the charming streets of the Medina with its colorful doors and windows before getting to Ras el-Ma Spring. The spring offers panoramic views and cultural encounters with local women wash clothes & carpets.

After having lunch, we will drive to Tangier through the city of Tetouan with its UNESCO listed Medina. 

Day 4: Explore Tangier

Today, you will spend the day exploring the best of Tangier with a local private tour guide whose knowledge about the mysterious city of Tangier is outstanding. We will drive through the “Ville Nouvelle” that was built the international powers that ruled its from 1912 to 1956. Drive through the French, Belgium & Spanish districts before getting to the promontory Cap Spartel where the Mediterranen & the Atlantic Seas meet. The views from here are stunning.

We will then visit the Hercules Caves that are shrouded in mystery, then drive to the Kasbah area where we will visit the Kasbah Museum. The current museum was a Sultan’s Palace and once you set foot inside, you will get amazed by the extravagance of the decor highlighted by the intricate geometric designs, wrought iron grills, Zellij tiles and stucco-works.

Resume your guided tour of Tangier to the bustling Medina with its vibrant Souks (markets), Petit Socco, Gran Socco, American Legation and much more before ending our day exploration either by escorting you to the port or drop you off in your accommodation.
